Savannah, GA

Published August 10, 2011 in Personal, Travel

After spending a month in New Orleans, my cousin accompanied me on the long road-trip home to North Carolina. On the way, we stopped and stayed a few days in Savannah, GA. Savannah was SO.CUTE. We absolutely loved the city! We stayed in a pet-friendly B&B (Foley House Inn) with my dog Zuli. I absolutely loved all of the squares in town as well as the mossy oaks – which gave a spooky ambiance.  Savannah has so much culture and charm, it is definitely a place I would love to visit again! Below are some highlights from our weekend.  We […]

New York City!

Published July 10, 2011 in Personal, Travel

I have finally visited Manhattan for the first time!  I had an absolute blast.  New York, NY is such a fabulous city!  I was able to see many different parts: Upper East Side, Upper West Side, Mid-Town, Financial District, Greenwich Village, Chelsea, SoHo, China Town, Little Italy, and even Brooklyn.  I loved all of New York, but my favorite neighborhood was West Village.  I would love to go back and see more!  Below are some highlights from my trip…

Niagara Falls

Published June 11, 2011 in Personal, Travel

Within one month, I road-tripped from North Carolina to Niagara Falls – TWICE!  It is about a 12 hour drive one way, so add that up.  Thousands of miles!  On the way to and from Niagara Falls, I was able to visit cool places like Washington, D.C., West Virginia, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Toronto and more. Niagara Falls is such a beautiful wonder of the world and I am so lucky I have been able to visit this spectacular waterfall twice (and again in a few months!).  My husband and I road the Maid of the Mist, which I […]

North Carolina Anniversary Post

Published June 1, 2011 in Personal, Travel

For the first time in five years, I can say that I have lived in the same place for ONE FULL YEAR.  FOUR WHOLE SEASONS. Well, I am truly glad that my semi-permanent residence has been North Carolina.  It is a really fabulous state, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the last year here.  I love that I live only 2 hours from mountains and 2 hours from the coast.  Not many states have snow skiing and the beach.  There is still so much to see, but I have spent many weekends road-tripping around the state and checking out all it […]

Spring Time

Published April 12, 2011 in Personal

Well, this North Carolina weather has been so fickle lately. I was sweating yesterday but wearing a sweater today. But it’s Spring nonetheless. I snapped a picture of these pretty daisies and carnations that I picked up from the grocery store. Fresh flowers put me in a good mood.

The Big Easy

Published March 8, 2011 in Personal, Travel

I just got back from a trip to NOLA (and yes, I am there often!).  Being that it’s Mardi Gras time, I wanted to post some of my favorite New Orleans pictures.  This isn’t my first New Orleans post – every once in a while, I like to remind people how much I’m obsessed with my hometown. The last picture is so special because it is of my niece and nephew on the front steps of my parents’ new home.  My childhood home was destroyed in Katrina and the rebuilding process took quite a bit a of time.  Needless to […]

Washington, D.C.

Published December 19, 2010 in Personal, Travel

Speaking of road trips, last month I was able to visit the Nation’s Capitol for the very first time!  D.C. is an awesome city, the museums we were able to tour were amazing.  The most compelling one for me was the Holocaust Museum.  I can see why people keep going back to D.C. – there are so many museums, historical sights, famous restaurants, etc…you can’t possibly see it all in one week.  I definitely plan to make more trips there to explore more of this great city!

The Virginia Countryside

Published December 19, 2010 in Personal, Travel

Oh, do I love road trips!  And my husband and I have been going on weekend trips nonstop since we moved to the east coast.  I love that I am a short drive to so many amazing places.  We’ve recently visited the Virginia Countryside a couple times.  The first time, we stayed with some friends on a Christmas Tree Farm near Damascus and did a 22-mile bike ride along the Virginia Creeper Trail.  The weather was perfect for biking, the ride was pretty leisure, and the leaves the surroundings were beautiful.  Needles to say, we had a blast.  We also […]

Zuli Dog

Published November 2, 2010 in Personal, Uncategorized

Well, I got a new camera this week, and I love it! I had to test it out immediately, so I grabbed the closest subject: my black lab Zuli.  She’s a great model because she doesn’t complain and needs little direction. But she did not show much diversity  in her facial expressions; she could work on that. Below are some black & white shots of (wo)man’s best friend!
