Washington, D.C.

Published December 19, 2010 in Personal, Travel

Speaking of road trips, last month I was able to visit the Nation’s Capitol for the very first time!  D.C. is an awesome city, the museums we were able to tour were amazing.  The most compelling one for me was the Holocaust Museum.  I can see why people keep going back to D.C. – there are so many museums, historical sights, famous restaurants, etc…you can’t possibly see it all in one week.  I definitely plan to make more trips there to explore more of this great city!

The Virginia Countryside

Published December 19, 2010 in Personal, Travel

Oh, do I love road trips!  And my husband and I have been going on weekend trips nonstop since we moved to the east coast.  I love that I am a short drive to so many amazing places.  We’ve recently visited the Virginia Countryside a couple times.  The first time, we stayed with some friends on a Christmas Tree Farm near Damascus and did a 22-mile bike ride along the Virginia Creeper Trail.  The weather was perfect for biking, the ride was pretty leisure, and the leaves the surroundings were beautiful.  Needles to say, we had a blast.  We also […]

ALASKA!, cont’d…

Published August 21, 2010 in Personal, Travel

Well, my Bear-Viewing trip was not even close to all of the fun things I did during my 3 weeks in Alaska! Among many things, below are pictures from our hike to the top of Flattop Mountain (where my husband proposed to me on my first trip to Alaska), Independence Mine, Point Woronzof in Anchorage, the top of Alyeska Ski Resort in Girdwood… and many pictures around Flat Horn Lake where my mother-in-law has a cabin out in the Alaskan Bush! Other places visited: Palmer, Big Lake, Tony Knowles Coastal Bike Trail, Arctic Valley, The Alaska Zoo Everyone needs to […]

Bear Viewing! Katmai National Park, Alaska

Published August 21, 2010 in Personal, Travel

As I said in previous posts, I’ve hardly been home this summer.  One reason is because I spent three weeks in ALASKA!  My husbands family lives in Anchorage, so we finally got to return – it’s been 2 years since our last visit.  Each trip to Alaska gets more extraordinary.  In March 2008, I had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the Iditarod!  It was amazing to see in person, something I had only read about. I never imagined that I – a little girl from the deep South – would one day experience all of these wonders of the NORTH […]

Elizabeth City, NC

Published August 21, 2010 in Personal, Travel

For Fourth of July, I visited some friends who are stationed in Elizabeth City, NC with the Coast Guard. Elizabeth City is Northeast from me, near the Coast of North Carolina. On Sunday evening of Independence Day, we went to Downtown E. City to see the fireworks over Forbes Bay. The sunset was gorgeous, so I had to share a few pictures from the evening.

MB Reese has Relocated (yes, again!)

Published June 8, 2010 in Personal, Travel

I have a new state to call home…good ole North Carolina! The last few weeks have been spent packing, driving, moving and settling in to a new place. I will be starting up in a new location in central North Carolina – the Fayetteville and Sanford areas (which includes all of the surrounding towns in between). I have yet to update my google listings and searches, but will do that as soon as my web master (husband) has an opportunity! Nonetheless, I really love the area and I’m so excited to be here for a while! Here is a picture […]

Arkansas: The Natural State

Published May 4, 2010 in Personal, Travel

My time here in Arkansas is winding down…only 2 weeks left before I’m outta here! I have to say – Arkansas, you’ve impressed me. Since Spring has Sprung, my husband and I have really seen what Arkansas has to offer. And since we’re outdoors people, we’ve had a fantastic time exploring state and national parks, hiking, camping, etc. I wanted to share some pictures of my family and me around Arkansas – from Lake Catherine, Cedar Falls, Petit Jean State Park, Pinnacle Mountain State Park, Devil’s Den State Park, Ozark National Forest, The Old Mill… And you may or may […]

Cedar Falls

Published February 15, 2010 in Travel

I’m behind on my blogging! I’ve been busy taking road trips home to New Orleans, settling into Little Rock, and preparing for our next move! Yes, already moving again. We’re looking forward to (sort of) placing roots in North Carolina come summer! Well, a few weeks back, my husband had a day off so we took a short drive north to a town called “Morrilton” to take a hike in the Petit Jean State Park. We hiked the Cedar Falls Trail, which winds through Cedar Creek Canyon. It was AWESOME! Best day we’ve had here! There was no one else […]

The Old Mill

Published January 13, 2010 in Travel

I am still exploring the Little Rock area and heard about the Old Mill in North Little Rock. It is such a beautiful little hideout in Lakewood! I would love to do a photo shoot here, I know it’s a popular place for pictures. It was so beautiful in the middle of December, I cannot wait to come back in spring when the flowers are bloomed and the trees are green.

Aerial Shots of New Orleans

Published January 3, 2010 in Travel

I spent the Christmas holidays in New Orleans with my family and friends! While there, my husband was dying to take me flying. He rented a Cessna from the New Orleans Lakefront Airport, and I got a personal tour of the city of New Orleans at 1500 feet! Of course, my main goal on this short flight was to take aerial shots of the city. I have to say, it’s not often that you get your own private pilot to fly you around to take aerial photographs! It was great to have my husband flying because I could direct him […]
